Aloha Aku, Aloha Mai

ALOHA AKU, ALOHA MAI
Written by Michael Lanakila Casupang and Keo Woolford

Helele`i i ka ua Tuahine
Me he wai maka o ka lani e
Aloha aku, aloha mai, aloha e

Kalani ākea, Kalani ha`aha`a
Mai i uka e ke kai `olu mālie
Aloha aku, aloha mai, aloha e

Eia no wau, aia no `oe
E ho`i mai `oe
I ka poli aloha o Hawai`i ākea

Wehi maui i ka uluwehiwehi
Ka lani ākea, ka lani ha`aha`a
Aloha aku, aloha mai, aloha e

The Tuahine Rain of Mānoa falls gently
As tears of Heaven
Love is given, love is received, love indeed

The vast heavens, the low lying heavens
The mountains to the gentle lapping of waves
Love is given, love is received, love indeed

I am present, you are there
Return
To the loving bosom of vast Hawai`i

Always adorned in the lushness
The vast heavens, the low lying heavens
Love is given, love is received, love indeed

“Aloha Aku, Aloha Mai” was a poem by Lanakila Casupang about the overwhelming feeling of aloha that he felt from being a part of the movie production. The people that he met, the places that he visited, and the experiences everyone went through touched him in an unforgettable way. Love is given. Love is received. Love indeed.
